Junior Strings

The Youth Symphony also sponsors a Junior String Orchestra which meet Sundays, from 2:00p to 5:00p at either Hahn Hall at the Music Academy of the West, or the Norte Dame School. Children who are interested in learning the art of ensemble playing are eligible. During the last hour of rehearsal more intermediate students break off to meet as a smaller chamber ensemble. Marisa McLeod and her team of coaches determine which students should be part of this group. The goal of the orchestra is preparation for admission to the Youth Symphony. Marisa McLeod, violinist, is conductor.
